Natalie said on 16th May ... "I would like to say that the bar lady last night was extremely rude to me and my friend. She is lucky we stayed and paid for our driks at all. To top this off the bar has a damp smell which is horrible! Not an enjoyable evening.

Bar staff whom are rude to their customers shouldn't be behind the bar"

J M said on 29th April ... "Smoke is an outstanding little bar. Granted there's not much competition but that doesn't matter as it would stand out in most areas. Excellent drinks, relaxed but fun atmosphere and friendly bar staff. A formal seating arrangement around the bar is complemented by a more relaxed area towards the back which also doubles up as a bit of a dance floor at the weekends.

Calm and quiet during the day (great food by the way!) and lively in the evening. They've also upped the number of tvs for football on Sundays which makes it an all round superb place to go whatever you're after."

Anna Barker said on 07th March ... "A new contemporary bar/restaurant, all subtle lights, dark wood and relaxed atmosphere. The bar looks small from the front but extends back to a funky restaurant area at the back. Friendly staff and good drinks list to cover all tastes.

There is a surprisingly traditional pub menu with a couple of contemporary dishes. Having said that, we didn't eat - update re the food to follow soon! The front windows look like they open out with the potential for outside tables. They advertise a Sunday lunch and brunch menu and they have nice sofas so it would be a good place to spend a relaxing Sunday with the paper. In some ways, it almost feels as if this bar doesn't quite know what it wants to be - it is feeling its way.

It's smart but has a small TV for sports and sports pictures. However, there is nothing else like this in Tooting. This is the first 'trendy Claphamesque' bar and we welcome it!"

Greg Lovell said on 07th March ... "Just to add to Anna Barker's review, Tooting Bec really needs somewhere like this. I like The Point, the closest bar to Tooting Bec, but it's a more family-focused place. The people and atmosphere in Smoke are great - like the least pretentious of the Clapham bars - and I can walk home in 2 minutes! I hope it's the start of a transformation for the area as Clapham is getting just too expensive to live in these days."
