I have had good meals here on several occasions. However, after visiting on Staurday, I will not return. Having served raw chicken in a ceasar salad, the waiter was very apologetic but the manager wanted to charge us for them, would not accept that there was anything wrong and became rude and abusive. I would advise people to avoid this establishment.
I disagree with ome of the reviewers although I was probably not in the restaurant the ill-fated July day when service went amiss. I must say I haven't even noticed the neolithic stone! This is a great neighbourhood restaurant with a warm welcome, excellent camaraderie and wonderful French food learnt at 'maman's' elbow. If the service lags it is definitely best to find one of the owners, Walter or Pascal, and whisper in their ear. The reward will be worth it. And a visit from further afield should not disappoint.
Very good quality food, excellent service, price...didn't look! (joke)...ONLY .... extremely worried about the 'standing stone', as it was probably Neolitihic and removed from its rightful place on a french hillside aligned with the sun, not ideal for the preservation of prehistoric monumenture, which, unlike most other art/historical features, should be kept 'in situ' not torn from hillsides for restaurants, homes and art galleries...good vibey idea by the obviously talented designer but wider ramifications if everyone did this clearly disregarded (unless hopefully it's fake or a developer was going to chuck it, or something) It made me and I am sure other customers really very sad.

Arranged to meet friends at Gazette yesterday lunchtime to try it out based on great reviews on this site. Travelled a fair way to get there and was hopeful for a pleasant Sunday brunch. Restaurant was virtually empty on arrival and certainly never reached capacity (as at least half empty). Despite this it took an hour to get one fruit juice drink and we waited nearly two hours to get three salads before leaving in despair. Without so much an apology or explanation for why the food was taking so long we left hungry and vowing not to revisit. We finally had lunch at 4pm at a great tapas restaurant on Northcote Road... don't venture to this place, not worth the effort.
This is the best restaurant I have been to for a very very long time. I visited twice already and both times I had a great meal. The chef is very creative and the food fresh. The menu is really fun because it looks like a newspaper with a huge wine list, I havent counted but these guys are nuts, I stopped at 160 something plus they have a lot of wine by the glass and carafe.
