Infernos - About

Alongside the achingly-hip Clapham High Street’s selection of bars, trendy pubs and swish eateries, cheesy throwback club Infernos makes for an odd sight. However the décor is more converted 1970s disco than a pretence to ‘ironic retro’, with the music policy unremarkable and the drink prices predictably high (around £4 for a single and mixer or a bottle of beer). The sheer size of the place might put some off, but the mix of leathered, unpretentious clientele keeps the atmosphere friendly. There are better clubs in the area, and London as a whole, but there’s nothing substantially offensive to deter all but the most discerning revellers. Jim Ranger, MyVillage
